The program committee for the Colorado River Water Users Association 2016 Annual Conference has been hard at work lining up events, panel discussions, and educational sessions for attendees.
Water quality, for example, is a concern in the Colorado River Basin. Acid mine drainage, and managing abandoned mines, top the list for many. However the geology of the Basin adds salinity concerns for irrigators in the Lower Basin. Pull up a chair at, “PM Session 1A – Clearing the Waters: River Salinity and the Gold King Mine,” to learn about mitigation strategies.
Or, for folks closer to the headwaters, “PM Session 2B – Safeguarding the Waters: Forest and Watershed Management,” will shed light on managing forests in critical watersheds.
